    Hey,

I have just bought my first clio 16V! The temperature gauge goes up quite quickly to 2/3 and sits there! Sometimes a little more!! what can i do to sort it?

    Thanx

    www.bbpt.co.uk

Simplay opens at a lower temperature, allowinfg the water to flow through the radiator at a cooler temperature, and keeping overall lower temps.

you shouldnt really need one mate, i changed mine from a low temp to a normal one, try giving the system a flush out and use fresh coolant, mine goes up to 2/3rd but then drops to 1/3 at first then keeps going up and down with the thermostat regulating it, settles at about half way after a while, my low temp stat kept it at 1/3 or less, which is apparently too cool

dont pay BBPT prices for a low temp one either, go into your local Motor World and pick one up for about £6-£8 inc the seal, its part number is

    low temp - 276-82
slightly lower than OE - 276-88

    the OE stat is 89c

dont get the low one. it keeps temps too low. which aint good for the engine and the general running of it, never mind the fact that you will freeze in winter.

All my cars are fine with the low temp stat in.

    Mine's fine also..

My heater also gets warm though without the coolant guage even moving.. ;)

Once up to operating temperature - sits at the 2nd bar up.. or just slightly above. (Same place my Willy 3 did and that had a standard stat in it I'm sure ;) )
