oil leak.

right i seen to have an oil leak and it is dripping from the sump. any thoughts on what i may need to do. or where it might be coming from. it only coming out when the car is runnin?

ai tis tru, thats what i had before oil change, new sump plug washer n its cleaner than a babies arse under there now!!

u do have the right sump plug washer on dont u? alloy sumps should have a metal washer with rubber insert and steel sumps have a copper washer

yeah think so, i'm on 'metal' (copper is a metal!! ) with an insert n a alloy sump!

piece of piss, except all your oil will come out!!! may aswell change it while ur there and when u replace the sump plug stick the new washer on it!

if not the sump plug .. see if the oil filter seal is ok (run your finger around the oil filter .. and if it is dripping farer up from the sump plug look at the sump seal above the sump plug..

or get some extra large durex ... about £2 from local pub .. rap it all the way around
