    Dodgy speedo

Hi all, sorry if this has been asked already, but here goes anyway...

My speedo doesn't seem to want to go above 60 mph, and when I come off the power it just sticks and takes ages to come down.

Realised this today when I took a roundabout, looked at the speedo and noticed I did it at 60 (just got the clio today and thought for a second that the sense of speed wasn't that great, then my common sense hit and realised the speedo stuck at 60 ) But for that split second i was a legend :P

Any ideas on the problem/ solution?

    Cheers

    Check:

    - The cable at the gearbox end, its at the very back of the engine bay at the bottom.

    - The connection behind the dashboard.

My speedo was being gay, it would knock off when i went over bumps and potholes.

Ended up being the cable wasnt pushed fully in at the gearbox/diff end.

have you got standard dials or some coloured replacement ones ?....

if you have some Lockwood's etc then sometimes they can rise up a little and catch on the needle making it stick

I don't think there standard dials, are the original ones white?

Also how easy is it to check the connection? Still a bit clueless when it comes to the technical stuff :(
