    Your Car History ?

    Morning peeps.

Was wondering what everybodys car history is. I will start the ball rolling....

    1991 Ford Fiesta 1.1.
xr2 interior, sold with no air filter (what i mug i was), car had bad combustion problems and ran for about 3 days max before failure. car was sold for scrap after 3 months. friend wrote on the bonnett in oil "fasterthanjesus" - just before it went to the great scrapyard in the sky.

    1991-1996 Vauxhall Cavalier 1.8 sri
very solid car on a "b" plate. had a cylinder head gasket go, which also took out the rad and the water pump. apart from that, it was made for motorway driving, held the road well, and had good response through all the gears. managed to part ex (£200) it in wrexham for....

    1996-1998 Renault 5 GT Turbo (1.4)
Nice car. Very nice car. Very Very nice car. The curse of the cylinder head gasket followed me, this car didnt like to be sat about in queues. But the acceleration and handling were very very good. I managed to buy it for £1600, it needed two new front tyres, the starter motor didnt work (managed to bump start it). the journey home was hilarious, some idiot in an xr2 "buzzed" me on the m56, i was only doing about 65. suffice to say, left him wishing he hadnt bothered.

1998 -2000 Vauxhall Astra 1.8 sport (company car)
i had the company car for 4 days, then some $&%£$% broke into my r5. i was forced to sell it, wasnt happy.
the astra sport was good, good on the motorway, very sturdy, and had an ok response. there was a known problem with "squeaking" brakes, which was eventually sorted out.

2000-2002 Vauxhall Corsa 1.8 sri (company car)
wasnt as fast as i thought it would be, but it was much better in the higher gears. motorway driving was good, car felt safe, even though it was quite small. parking was a doddle. all in all, not a bad motor.

2002-2005 ford focus diesel estate 1.8 turbo (company car)
bag of poo. no acceleration. where was the turbo? turned like an oil rig, parking was a long and drawn out procedure. avoid focus diesel estates at all costs.

2005- present Williams 3. (walked away from company car lifestyle)
to be honest, theres a lot of cars i could have chosen. im in my mid 30's and after owning the r5, there was only one choice.
williams and renault did some very good things. reliability is questionable, cost of ownership can be high, but the driving experience is second to none.

    1997 - 2001, 205 1.6 GTi (becoming 1.9)
Hit a tree and wrote it off three months after passing my test, rebuilt it with a new shell, modified it beyond all common sense over the next four years, spent a fortune and exhaust both mine and my dad's funds before selling it.

    1997 - 1999, 205 1.6 GTi
Daily runner, and managed to stay completely standard and unmolested until I took a disliking to another tree and wrote it off to. End of the line for this one.

    1999 - 2000, 205 1.9 GTi
Another daily runner (lamb to the slaughter), this one actually service to see the day it was sold!

    2001 - 2002, 306 D Turbo
Trusty commuting hack. Did me proud, servived another accident (not my fault this time!!!) and was sold to buy....

    2002 - 2002, 306 XSi
Bought because I couldn't afford a GTi6, but bollocks to that. Three months later....

    2002 - 2004, 306 GTi-6
Best overall car I've ever owned. Amazing :D . Sold to pay off debts.

    2004 - 2004, E30 325i Sport
Bought for some rear-wheel-drive fun, in a moment of over-enthusiastic impulse purchasing, sold 6 weeks later for fear of the thing dissappearing into a large pile of Lachs Silver rust.

    2005 - 2005, Williams 2
Bought this on a strict budget, but then managed to save some money, so wanted to spend it on something sensible....

    2005 - dunno, Willaims 2
So I bought a mint one that I now love and cherish :D

    1999 - renault megane 1.4rt
wrote this heap off by hitting the armco barrier and a hgv coming off a motorway at silly speeds. only had passed my test by 2 months

    1999 - rover 414
wrote off when some nob rear ended it. ' where theres blame theres a claim'

    2000 - peugeot 205 xe
bad bad car. big sun strips, 13inch wheels, 5 inch exhaust. died of head failure

    2001 - peugeot 205 xe
spent a mint on this one to get it looking the part. was only a 1ltr in disguise so had to go.

    2002 - fiesta xr2i
only lasted two months. rotten as they come. broken beyond belief when i sold it.

    2003 - renault clio 1.8 16v
wonderful car. cost me a mint in gearboxes. 3 in total. not good.

    2004 - astra belmont
bought when my clio was in bits again. duct tape viper stripes, 'pimp my belmont' in big pink letters in the rear window. scrapped after 3 weeks cos my clio was running again.

    2005 - audi A4
decided to grow up so bought an audi. 18s, looked nice. boring as hell.

    2005 - present, renault clio williams 2

Citroen BX 1.7 DTR Estate 04/96-12/96 - quickish (made out of plastic mostly :P ), could fit a mattress in the boot , and had it off my mum for £1k. Kept blowing core plugs and hoses though and the final straw was when the tyre came off the rim at 90 on the m-way in a blizzard. It didn't like me much.

Citroen AX 1.0 Dimension 05/98-06/00 -Top little motor and never went wrong ever, even when it ran for months with no oil!

Citroen Xsara 1.6 Forte 06/00-02/03 - Oddly, one of my favourites. Handled well and was seriously comfy with loads of toys. Gave it up for all the wrong reasons to buy...

Renault Clio 1.5 dCi80 Dynamique+ 02/03-02/04 - Pretty good little motor and good for eating the motorway miles, but I hardly do any m-way miles and so never really got the best of it. Was the top spec model so had lots of toys, but half didn't work well. Sold to my mum who still has it and got far better use out of it tanking across the south west.

Renault Clio 1.8 16v 02/04-Present - Excellent car, if a little drawn to bad luck. 3 bumps in 18months, but only a couple of hefty mechanical repair bills. Can't see me getting rid anytime soon.

    errrrr

    had minis as a kid

bought an austin A35 when i was 15 sold that after takin the plate off it hehe

got a talbot sunbeam after that, shoehorned a 2.0 capri block in.was fun

then i bought a mini to 'learn' to drive in, had that 12 months, wrapped it up into a wall

mk2 escort followed that, was loadsa fun apart from gettin pulled evry couple of hours cos they were nickable cars...mate rear ended that n wrote it off

    back to the minis, 1340s 1400s 1275s 1100s 1000s, still have 2 of em

got a mk1 golf then, ran the tax n test off it, sold the wheels n scrapped it

back to the trusty minis hehe

bought a jetta lol.......fantastic car, great for throwin the bikes on the back of, was fair into me mtbs at the time.

traded that in for a black clio valver....fantastic car was running on 16s when i bought it, but they suited it well lol. was about 1 of the quickest on the yahoo list/early cs forum...was tempted to do a 2.0 conversion on it aftert 2 years ownership, but bought

williams 1. never really looked back. all i can say is this car is the embodiment of the 'driving experience' u can get it out of shape if u want, an pull it straight back....throw it anywhere, an its always under control (so far lol) its quick, comfy, has enuf room for a pram in the boot n a couple baby seats in the back, altho is a bit tiresome throwin the kids in teh back.....not to mention all the fukkin weird stains u get on the carpets.

liked the willy so much, i bought a willy 2 as well, but had to sell that a couple of years ago after losing my job, gutted..

will be gettin a new motor just after xmas, but the willy will be going nowhere, like me minis lol....cars for life.
