    Remap question

When my car somes back from bodyshop in a couple of weeks i'm going to put a stainless fanimold on (ordered today :D ) I've already got a magnex system and de-cat and standard airbox with green filter. Is there any advantage to getting a re-map with the mods i Have????

If yes then who do you suggest? I know 2 live and the other northern fairies swear by someone but can't remember who it is.

Who is he and what sort of price am I looking at?

Is it worth raising the rev limit and whats a safe figure for a standard engine 6800????

    Thanks

Not imo get cams first .....safe rev limit..well Nick Hill goes for 6800 rpm but I had no problems running 7k and 7100 rpm in my previous cars. I believe Craig's is running 7300rpm limit on stnd bottom end...

    Cams will come next spring.

I thought that remapping would unleash a bit more power and make the car more driveable etc?????

It would make a difference and the extra revs are very good but for £300+ notes I would wait.....you're loaded though go for it!

    LOL

I've just spent £300 on a fanimold, £2100 to be spent on crash repair and £??? for a wheel refurb to repair scuffed wheel from crash, so another £300 wouldn't hurt.

I've got the hill power stage1 chip which improved the torque curve and raised the limit to 7k. It feels much better to drive, but in gear acceleration tests before and after were almost the same.

Only costs about 200 squid and nick will re-map it for you cheaply when you get the cams

aye if ur thinkin of gettin cams fitted, wait til after the cams for the re-map. wayne is a top fella.really cant argue with his mapping, it does seem a little expensive compared to some off the shelf chip options, but at the end of the day his are mapped to ur specific engine. not someone elses that will 'do the job' on urs also...doesnt always work this way imo
