    Williams - Slow?

Was thinking of getting one but speaking to a mate he said he drove one and was dissapointed as it was not very quick?, he said it was good fun and handled well but was average in a straight line?
    any comments and comparisons plse

Probably doesn't feel quick as the torque is all the way over the rev range.
It doesn't feel crap then kicks you back in ya seat.

Point to point - it's quick.

Compared to what lol A williams will seem slow in comparison to a well sorted evo or Skyline or summut...but for a hot hatch it is pretty quick especially in tweaked form.

I think they're pretty quick off the mark and in the first three gears, but not amazing after that. Perhaps he did a lot of the driving on the motorway?

And as Daz said, there's no kick-in-the-back shove at high revs so they don't feel quite as quick as they are.

You mention tweaks, what simple tweaks are possible, what would make a diff and what have you done?

Decent cat-back system, straight-through decat pipe, and panel filter are the first things. After that, cams and a remap are supposed to make a big difference.

It's pretty easy to take some weight off the car too. Spare wheel and cage, parcel shelf, boot carpet and rear seats take about 15 minutes to take out, and lose about 40 kilos straight away.

Unless you have owned a subaru impeza a skyline or something simular then then a williams wont seem quick in a straight line. Its probably the most fun you can have round corners and its clio sport 172 pace :P
