    golf R32

Has anyone had a blast with one, and what was the outcome? I know they are fairly rapid, but they also weigh loads.

well my mate had a blast in his 172 with one coming onto the a41 from hemel, and the r32 tried to push us off the slip lane, when we were on the dc, we kept up with him easily, but he was driving like a dick, and tried it on with the civic type r in our small convoy. Type r dropped a gear, v-tech kicked in and left the golf behind. then the golf went down a slip road towards drive through mc ds. Pretty sure it was an r32, unless it had a very good kit on it, but i would have imagined it would have pissed on us both? My uncles just got one, so i wanna know if a willy or 172 cup would keep up with it, as thats what im getting next!

Standing start would be a different story I think. I managed to keep up with a ctr (bread van) no prob when i had 0062, but then he added an exhaust and chip and he would pull away after that, but not by much. I would have thought the R32 every time, but I agree, not by a lot.

Even Jan in 0062 can reasonably keep up with the rex when we floor it from say 40 .... its only after three figures when the i become really small

I always thought R32s were good looking (for a golf), but for the price, they are very average really.

same with vr6s, gti's, gt tdi's etc etc etc.

had a play with a v6 4 motion comin out of york once, i was 4 up..had 2 golf loving and owning friends in the back, both had vr6s at the time, they couldnt believe i was keeping with the 4 motion, and almost having to overtake it in the serious twisties hehe...

I know someone who looked at changing his 230hp 1.8T FWD golf and he said his car was quicer although it didn't have quite the grip of the line plus his car handled better (different springs and dampers I think).
Still turbo or supercharge the engine and you have a right rocket on your hands theres some/a 600hp monster R32 car/s out there.
