    Failed MOT

    Hello,

Just had a call from the garage to tell me my Williams has failed on the following:

    Sub frame needs welding/replacing
    Steering rack gater
    Exhaust blowing
    Rear brake pads

Quoted approx £300 plus VAT to sort does this seem expensive?

Think their hourly rate is £40!

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers
    Kate

You can't get new sub frames anymore I paid 100 for a used one that had to be welded slightly then blasted and painted the rest of your list seems simple enough

You're lucky - I just had to have MOT repairs coming to almost £800! Just for the cat, top suspension mount, and front washers

It's a bit steep but by no means unreasonable imo
