hmm dunno much about doing it but here my new car..
im liking that martin alot, theres one on ebay but i wana do it myself?
Best finish will be obtained using 2-pack paint, but as long as the metal is prepared correctly and given 3-4 coats of primer getting a decent finish with spraycans isnt that hard.
so if i go and get some materials wot exactly do i need, does this sound rite?
2pack paint in my preffered colour? 1 can of?
metal primer?
does the cover need to be prepared, ie cleaned?
laquer?
wot about the heat from engine?
Do you have a compressor and spraygun?
no, but can spray with cans rather well as my first clio rt had all plastic interior sprayed white inside! bad idea!
Just need to decide on a colour at your local motor factors. Get a tin of primer, tin of colour and a tin of laquer (if you use a metallic paint). Degrease and pressure wash the rocker cover (once off the car) and prep it with 400 wet&dry for the primer and 800-1000 wet&dry for the topcoats.
thts wot i forgot, wet and dry, cheers fella may buy a spare rocker cover jus incase it dont go 2 well
hi mate i had fred spray me a rocker cover, timing belt cover and inlet manifold in williams gold... came out really well :D
just finishing off fitting them tonight actually, altho it will be dark by the time i finish so pics wont be to good.
