Go from underneath & use a suitable tool. I usually manage ok with an old fashioned chain type tool & by ok I mean without much loss of blood
Just changed mine recently, only tool I used was my hand, engine was nice and warm, just got at it from the top at the drivers side. Wouldn't say it was easy but it certainly wasn't difficult.
