    Are 16v prices going unrealistic?

Been having a scan of CS/ebay lately and it seems to me that poeple are getting carried away pricing their 16vs - does anyone else think this?

Recently theres been a lot of near boggo standard 16vs for sale for upwards of 2.5k yet on average, an alternative of similar performance (i.e GTT/205 GTI etc) goes for much less...odd!

    Whats going on?

I do think people ask alot for them. My mate just sold his naples one the same as mine for 1200ono. <Thats what he got as well and it was mint really apert from a bit of rust on 1 arch. A good condition M-N reg valver is worth 2k tops to me. Thats a low miler with fsh no rust ect.

Yeah thats more what i'd expect to pay.

Whats also made me think about this is there was chap on CS selling his starting at 2800...it wasn't selling so i suggested putting a more realistic price on...he asked and i said about 1800. That didn't go down well but point i was trying to make was that its a 10 year old car...mint it may be...but its not a bottle of wine - they don't get better with age.

However, that chap aside, theres quite a few people asking rather alot compared to an equivalent GTT or the like...

I got slated on there for suggesting that people were being a little optimistic.

The Kirmanator's old valver only went for £2k in the end.

I wouldn't expect more than £1500 if I was to sell now.

So what happened to the 2.0 engine? Did it break?
