    removing a gear knob

    this might seam a silly question but how do i remove the ger knob so i puton a new one, is it the case of keep goin anti clockwise or is there a specail way ofgetting them off

    Literally just anti clockwise and eventually it will release

    If you don't want to destroy the OEM gear knob (and the gear linkage) you have to get the whole gear lever housing off the car.

    The gear knob is not screwed on. It sits on knurled bar at the end of the gear stick. You have to gently pull it off.

    It does require some brutal force to break the glue off

    My one didn't. As said. if you don't won't to burst the first one you have to gently prize it off.

    thanks for the replys, ill have to try pulling it off, ive got a new one to put on and noticed that there is no threads on the inside, if its glued on when i put the new one now which type of glue do i need to use

    Probably not much use to you but I blowtorch the gearstick below the knob and it then comes off easily.

    What is the recommended glue to use when fitting a new one?
