Just wondering what symptoms can cause this? I have checked the alternator is charging correctly so I can rule this out!

Faulty diodes in the alternator can cause this, but the alternator still works.
Your starter motor can cause problems with the battery light. Have you had any trouble starting the engine??
Is the battery holding it's charge??
Poor connections on back of alternator and battery not done up right. Also, bad earthing I believe.
Yep spot on I have had problems with starting! I had to give the starter a knock into live the other day! Would you say the starter has seen better days??Originally Posted by MattDilley
Sounds like the solenoid in your starter is starting to short out.
This happened to my car.
I had the solenoid replaced on the motor for about £30?? So not to expensive to fix.
where did you get that done? i was thinking about a reconed starter motor
It was a alternator and starter motor place in Leicester. That's all they do.
See if there's 1 local to you in the yellow pages??
