    Central Lcoking Actuators

damn central locking gave up ghost last night

keeps popping main fuse in the passenger footwell fusebox

my actuators have always been a bit sticky, sometimes the passenger side door doesnt unlock etc, so guessing this is the issue.

question is it likely to be new actuator time or is it more likely to be a bit of wd40 and check for linkages fouling on stuff situation?

    cheers

    Ben

Just replace the unit mate. Make sure you get the right one though not ALL are the same as I found out doing a door the other night...

If its blowing fuses, just check the wiring as well, as I am sure you will. Could be shorting out somehow...can get pretty ikky on the inside of the door along the bottom...

I think some have a slightly different plug socket type, most are the same design though

if its just plug design thats different thats fine, i'll just botch it if needs must or make sure new ones come with plugs and little bit of loom for a splice job

fear not sir, every fix involves investigative forays and remedial repairs/revision and improvement of 16 year old renault technology

Yea, you can do that. It's just a bitch of a job if its already bolted in
