Highly Polished heat sheilds for F7R F7P Look!

Hi after gauging the interest on this (as i am in the position to make up some nice shiny Stainless Steel Heatshields.) I am looking into purchasing some polished Stainless Steel Sheet to fabricate them. The price will be £25 per heatshield and then postage on top. To keep postage costs down i wll ask you to PM me your address so i can get a quote and then charge you the amount the postage is and no more. You are more than welcome to collect them to save postage and also i could bring them to any upcoming meets to also save your postage.
The price has increased as the cost of material is higher than i first anticipated.

The only problem is due to the size of these heatshields i am going to need to purchase some boxes to post them in or i could wrap them in bubble wrap and ship them off that way but i am unsure as the royal mail dont really take much care with the items.

Please let me know if you are interested. I will fabricate them and trial fit them all to my car to ensure it will fit correctly.

If you are fed up with your heatshield looking like this:
    Image

Then transfer it and have one that looks like this :

Please create a list below. Please ONLY add your name to the list if you are 100% having one as i do not want to purchase the material and then everyone drop out as i would be left with the material that i cannot use as i already have a heatshield .

    Thanks Dan

Right this is the email i recieved today so i dont think its going to happen .

    Good morning Dan

Thank-you for your e-mail. I will be happy to help if I can. I am unable to recommend a grade, but can suggest that grade 316L should cover most applications. Please see price as follows:

    1 Sheet 1500mm x 1000mm x 0.7mm 316L mirror polished one side and plastic coated - £191.00, plus VAT

    or alternatively, we can offer:

    1 Sheet 1500mm x 1000mm x 0.7mm 304L mirror polished one side and plastic coated - £182.00, plus VAT

    Delivery: 10 working days

We are happy to deliver the material to Ipeco carriage free, but you will only save the carriage charge if you pay through the Ipeco account. If not, there is an automatic carriage charge for cash sales of £17.50. It would be good if you can negotiate it with Ipeco, to save a bit of cash.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards
    Jo Peters

The material will cost (if i can go through work) £213.85. If i dont go through work (don't think i will be able to because of purchase orders, company account etc) its £231.35 [because of delivery].

For this reason guys its £35 now and i will need a £20 deposit to cover the cost of material and i dont want and cant afford to front that sort of money atm as i have other things to pay out for. Plus if everyone drops out im £200 down with a piece of material that i will not use.

If you drop out i totally understand and i am sorry i have raised the price but the amount of time and effort involved in making these does take a while. Tbh if you sat down and worked it out the amount of money i will be making is less than a tenner per heatshield which is rubbish for the amount of time i will have to put in. The only reasson i am doing it as i think they look sexual and they are still cheaper than the ones from renault and look better (imo) so guys please put up a new list and im sorry for the mess about.

If only a few are intersted then unfortunately its a no go. Need 9 people to be wanting one and 9 deposits before i order the material.

Once again sorry guys and my apologies. Thought i would be up front and honest though.

I am going to also be in talks with one of the sheet metal material managers to see if i can purchase the amount i require from the company or if they have any materail that they are going to chuck it.

Also it may be cheaper if i dont get the polished finish material i can look into that if people are interested.

    Thanks Dan

Right these people are a complete bunch of idiots because i specifically asked for non aircraft grade material with no mill certs or certificates of conformity which the material is. My mate Luke at work (an estimator) is an absolute legend. He gave me the contact details for a company near me which i have just rung.

They can do me 15 pieces of 99% mirror finish stainless steel for the basically the same money with plastic coating (so it dosent get damaged whilst fitting and removed once fitted). Therefore the new price if I go with this lot is £30 per heatshield. I will still need a deposit of £20 before I order the material.

It gets better still if I can have 15 names of people that want one inc paid deposits the price will be £28 .. This is because there is a possibility of 15 people buiying them rather than 9 so therefore I can drop the price as I don’t want a huge profit as your all so helpful!!!!! Let me know what you think.

I am not ordering unless I get 10 people who have paid the deposits and are happy to pay at £30 unless 5 more people join and pay deposits then it will be £28 for everyone.

So put next to you name whether you are willing to pay the £30 if 15 people do not get involved.

    Names please.

Just a quick question, from an engineering point of view. Stainless is a great conductor and will get very, very hot, is there not an issue with heat transfer to the pipes behind it ? Looks nice though.

thats what i thought, surely its more of a heat magnet than a heat shield!

Point taken mate but i have been running mine for a while now and have had no problems whatsoeva. I know its working as well as the heatshield is getting hot and a couple of times i have put my hand behind the heatshield at the top (granted not the hottest point) and the back wall of the engine bay is not hot.

Can someone add this little section to williams clio for me please?
