Few things that wont help my idle ( pics / vids )

Found a few codged and overlooked maintenance that probably isnt helping my idleing problem. Ive done a video of the idleing so if someone could comment if this just sounds like its been cammed that would be good. Sounds like a slight miss to me though. Ignore the squeeky pas belt, thats another thing on the list

Firstly TPS wiring , considering resoldering/re shrinking these but might see if i can find a replacement first.

Secondly , whats the score with the adjustment on the TPS , when it was warm i adjusted this and got it idling relatively ok , bear in mind my idle adjustment screw is right in atm. Im thinking maybe i need to adjust the TPS to make the car under rev, then open the idle screw a touch ? any info regarding setting these two things in harmony would be appreciated

Next the air filter, will the default tables allow for something this big and silly lol

Next up is dodgy leads, ill be replacing these asap

Also found a loose wire on the CTS , i assume this is the engine temp rather than the dash sender ?

Should the fusebox look like this ? or is has this been codged ?

LAst but not least , previous owner claimed a bit of coolant loss, this cap looks like a rover one to me , and its letting air escape pretty fast.

Going to change that, might treat it to a new bottle aswell.

Heres the vid of the idle , its only really noticeable when i switch to exhaust.

    Appreciate any comments and help.

    Thanks

i would be tempted to give that cooling system a full flush
and check condition of the CTS which will affect your idle as well .

setting up the tps is not an easy task and wont be accurate without
the right tool , i would get an unmessed t/b and swap it over .

btw it does not seem to be idleing horribly bad 900-950rpm is
where it should be when the engine is hot .

Cheers, gonna set the TPS up with a meter, i know what im doing so far with that. Need to get it off, rewire it and then test the resistance values first then ill put it back on if its ok.

On the list is rewire the CTS , change CTS and clean the idle valve out.

Screw on the inlet is right in which i think is right , gonna seal that back up later and then check for leaks.

Coolant will deffo be flushed and that horrid bottle cleaned out or replaced.

If you know what you are doing with the TPS then npnp. the wires tend to go there, I covered mine in silicone

The plug you refer to as the CTS, I dont think it is . The white plug is the CTS, a bit lower in your pic. Cant remember what the broken cable plug is, at work now and cant have a proper look.

Tha air filter looks like a piperX induction kit, it's fine. It may whistle a bit sometimes.

Ah ok cool , well its obviously water temp related. Ill change cts after testing too as a matter of course i think.

Would really like to know what that sensor is though guys if anybody remembers

Cool on the filter, it can stay then , sound.

Hopefully should have all this wrapped up by the weekend then i can start standardising it.

Without a proper look I think the plug is the temp. sender that sends to the gauge on your dash. It's a brown plug, right?

Plus, change that coolant! Either clean the bottle and defo change the cap! Cheap as chips, and a new CTS is only a tenner from GSF.
