I'm sure this has been covered before but.... to preserve my blood pressure and the quantity of skin on my knuckles, what is the best method and/or type of filter wrench to use to remove the bitch of an oil filter???

whatever you find works best for you everyone has there own preferences i get mine off with the chain type and plenty of swearing
I found a surgical gloved hand, in from the top, shifted in when I did it for the first time.
depends when it was last done, but i can get mine off using the rubber glove method, but first time i used a chain as it was stuck big time!
And my old valver i used the screw driver trick.
Just remember if you do that you must make sure you have the right filter to go back on :P
hehe, works for me! Bit messy thoughOriginally Posted by vkosho
my way, loosen from below with standard filter pliers with tent pole extensions then you can remove from below or through gap between rad and h/lamp
