    Barmy fuel guage

My fuel guage is crackers, it cant decide between a full tank and a 3/4 tank, and when it is around 3/4 full it reads from anywhere between juat under 1 quarter and 3/4s.

    Is this a cureable problem?

Its on a 1991 phsae 1 valver btw

Sounds like a faulty fuel gauge sender unit.

    To remove sender unit......

    disconnect the battery negative.

Under the back seat theres a access hatch.

Disconnect hose and multi plug, unscrew secureing ring and withdraw sender unit. Let fuel in sender drain back to tank.

    Easy.

You can test it. Can't remember ohm's etc now. Will find them if you want to test your unit. Obviously need a ohmmeter though.
