arch repair

just out of curiosity. how much did you pay for your arch repair, and how much did getting it painted cost ?
im asking this because im going to look at a valver (for my hybrid project) sometime this week rather local to me and it needs arch repair.
i appreciate your help

Price varies a lot from what I can tell.

Renault rear arches cost a bomb, but you dont really need them. Can use poverty-spec ones and get the bodyshop to remould them. I've heard of prices from £300 ish up to £600 a side.

Thing is sills may need to be sorted at the same time, who knows. Will be doing all this myself at some stage.

yeah it could be sorted by myself.. but the family has enough bodywork on at the moment

a 1973 mk1 escort cossie project that has been standing for 15 plus years haha..
well this valver is going rather cheap.. and i only really need the shell.. and thats it.. so hopefully i can raise enough money from breaking and selling the bits i dont need to get the bodywork done

You get what you pay for mate.

Im looking at getting sills welded in at the moment and ive had quotes from 50 to 350 a side. Im currently planning on buying some cheap sills and cutting out what i need, than spot welding it on myself. Then doing the rust proofing and getting a friend to paint it for me.

If you have the skills than do it yourself. You will make a massive saving and do a better job than a profit driven pro.
