Which of the following would you consider makes a Williams non-'standard' to the degree it depreciates the car's value?:

1. Upgrade of original cassette stereo.
2. Upgrade of speakers in door panels and elsewhere
3. Upgrade of original car alarm / immobiliser

5. Extra wiring for phone / satnav
6. Upgrade of standard horn

I would definately say number 7, others seem fine to me.

Agreed, to the purists who are after only original, then all of those are no no's.
But to 95% of the market and cars and buyers, none of those would depreciate the cars value by anything considerable.

Personally 2 and 7 would put me off a bit on "normal" car.

All of the above, but they are easily put back to standard. It's when things are difficult to change back (engine mods, exhaust, body kits) that it can affect the value, especially if you don't have the original parts to sell with the car

deffo no door speakers on a Willy 1 - othrwise all other items should be OK.. If you want concours then only original items will do!!!

some things cant be helped tho. the original alarm can have probs, a lot of places wont repair, so replace with new stuff. iv also had ins co.s refuse to accept cat2 on oe alarm.

stereo......as long as original can be retro fitted, with no cut wires ...all gd

speakers in doors.get a 2 or 3.

extra wiring, phone/satnav. i have had williams' with anti hi-jack, hands free etc fitted as std.

horn....they shit anyway.so improvements all gd..id go with dixie horns. ;)

lights.........think we all know std lights are shite too... lol
