What's the ABS in a Williams 3 supposed to feel like?

Mine feels like my foot's gone through the floor and done some sort of damage!

Its more of a grinding feeling than the tuned tapping sensation I expected.

And sometimes it does it when I'm turning heavily at slow speeds, e.g doing a u turn.
