    Another Gearbox Question

I've acquired a JB3 053 gearbox for not very much as I thought it may be handy for spares some day.

I know the correct Williams box is the stronger JC5 014 unit... with some subtly different ratios.

So will any JB3 gearbox just bolt in as a not so strong alternative to the JC5 unit? And any ideas which car this JB3 053 would have come from?? Is it worth hanging onto??

    Cheers,

    Worth hanging on to?

Depends how you drive - I've never had any problems (touches wood lol) but then I only have a weedy valver ;) lol

Valver/19 boxes are alright! They can take a fair bit of welly.

Just be gentle when changing gear and make sure the box is supported well and you'll be reet.

If you got it cheap, bosh it on, then you won't care too much when it pops
