    HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jus taken my willy in 2 hav clutch cable and wheel bearing done and the garage called saying that alternator belt was hanging out. told them to replace it etc.

But they've called back sayin that the housing is broken and tensioner for its teeth are knackered also.Plus my water pump needs replacing as rusty

They've said that housing is £109 !!!!!!!!!!, so for all parts etc it comes to bout 300
    But fitting is 350!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there anywhere can get the housing from cheaper???

Had only budgeted for 200 odd quid not 700!!!!!!!!

Any help would be greatlly received

Not got any off ready at the mo, just need to find someone breaking an engine.
Quite a common problem for the teeth to be gone.

And how does a waterpump being rusty on the outside affect it's ability to pump water?
    Go somewhere else.

sounds like you're being fobbed off mate

why would they even be looking at the alternator belt & water pump? The clutch cable is on the opposite side of the engine bay

could mean that the hole underneath has rusty water coming from it thus the seals are on there way out..

teeth are common but there not part of the housing iirc and can be replaced separately i did on mine..

Not on all, some they are cast into the casing, think they revised them so that they were replaceable.
