when i drive the car up the road when i come to idle it idles at 2000 revs........this happens every time and only when its driven ot if you rev?

Earth on the road speed sensor, part of the speedo cable.

its on top of speedo cable, behind the clocks, whip clocks out and theres a little 3 wire mutliplug, re-earth the back wire to a decent earthing point as first check, if that doesnt cure it u'll need a new cable
