    help...my battery light is on ???

    mk1 n reg 1996 clio...out of the blue the red battery light came on. when i went over a speed bump it dissappeared but then it came back on...what could it mean ?

    loose connection on the alternator or battery

    Tighten your terminals - almost always the reason!

    Mine flickers occasionally but then is fine again for weeks.

    well the battery terminals seem tight no loose connection there. what about the alternator connection where is that ?

    The alternator is on its way out.

    They always do this, the light comes off and on and eventually you just have a flat battery. Its still charging but at a lower voltage.

    yep hapened to me, used to charge at about 9v. Put a volt meter on the battery with the engine running an it should read about 14v iirc.
