the idle problem that wont go away.

been having a problem with idle speed for a month now. the garage has replaced the iscv and that stopped the stalling problem.

several returns later and im still getting a problem where it idles occasionally at 1300. when braking it will drop to 1000 then jump to about 1800 before settling at 1300

the garage tell me they have checked for leaks and the tps is ok.

im losing my rag now. should i take it elsewhere?

I've just rebuilt a 1.8 for my little clio and after fitting it I to had a nasty 1.2-2k idle issue that I couldn't figure out. In the end it was a combination of two things... both being rubbish vacum feeds. The first was from the inlet to the MAP Sensor and the other was the little pipe that goes from the cam cover to the top of the inlet.

Both were giving poor seals and so essentially created a leak in the vacum/breather setup. I've now got a nice idle so check everything especially if your pipes are old!
