    1080p

i've got an old school exbox without the hdmi slot in it, and because i'm even more old school, i've only just bought a hdtv with 1080p, what do i need to do to get the xbox to run on hd settings? because it won't work with the normal scart lead.

You need to get the HD cable for the XBOX 360 i think, will plug in to the large socket on the back of the Xbox and provide you with the HDMI plug you need to connect to the TV.

Think it's something like this you need:

for the one you have you will need to composite cable, it plugs into the big socket on the xbox, has a switch on it to switch between TV and HDTV outputs. Then plug the composite end into the TV.
