A Frame Engineering ~~~ Deffo not a Renault

I hope you do not mind, but several "Williams Clio" people have had dealings with Mick,~~ the owner at "A" frame It might be construed as an advert ~~ I will leave that to the moderators ,but basically this is to prove the standard of his work manship
A guy brought in a Lotus Sunbeam rally car ~~ which had seen better days ,and asked Mick to turn it into a Works replica,to be used on Historic rallies. The Shell was sent for acid dipping, and the resultant "lump" was rebuilt using "new" panels ~ from a old crashed Sunbeam. The Axle is a genuine ex woks one~~ It came from GFuy Frequelins car.
I think you will agree it is a lovely project. He (Mick) devotes the same care and attention too everything he does ~~ including my Triumph Tiger 90 motor bike project (1965 vintage)
Oh by the way watch this space, for some Rose jointed bottom arms etc for the Clio

    I hope you enjoy
    Rodders.

That's gorgeous and I'd love to prepare cars like this for a living. I'm curious to know why he's fitted a hydraulic hand brake though as it'll never pass an SVA with it and it shouldn't pass an MOT either

Maybe but I want to know how the above car will get an MOT certificate with it like that as I need a handbrake fitting to my 19 and as the shell's been fully seem welded there's nowhere to fit the standard cable brake (and i'll be damned if i'm cutting the shell to fit one). The hydraulic setup was ideal until I spoke to the guy at the local SVA centre who promptly said "No fookin chance"

I might fit one anyway and see if he takes cash or payment in kind bribes... "Go on luv, do him a favour"

    Mick,
It depends on your MOT tester ~~ around here it does .
As you quiet rightly say"It should not pass the SVA or MOT" ~~ My tester has the view ( Wrongly I know ) The car is not going to be used as an everyday transport ~~ ie comes out of the Garage 6/8 times a year for events. When he puts it on the ramps he sees the cables,on the dyno the brakes do there business etc etc ~~ happy days :D :D
I have had more problems, with MSA scrutineers who really go to town,if they cannot see any cables attached etc ~~ as my rally car uses a modified Clio handbrake lever, provision is still there for the cables etc etc.
