    Changing Springs - Washers Supposed To Be Here?

    A one hour task that turned into a traumadey. First off you only have 2 bolts to remove and sure enough the first one I went near snapped in two, I didn't even have to put much pressure on the rachet



    Took the shock out to find it was absolutely gubbed:



    Didn't take a genius to work out why the front of the car was massively low:



    Now, my question: I'm guessing these washers were not from Renault? I assume the person fitting the lowering spring put them in so that the spring would actually reach it's perch, but figured I'd check before I relocate them to my spare parts pile.

    no shouldnt be them washers there, just the top hat seating for the spring and then the bearing and then the rubber top with the sleeve/nut and hey presto!

    Yeah, those washers are not meant to be there.
