The f7r's from meganes! Are they all the same? Are they all suitable for hybrid use? I mean just the bottom end mated to willy head

The Ph1 16v Megane Coupe used the F7R-D710 and the D714 units. Bottom ends were pretty much the same except the '714 used a chain driven oil pump. They are both compatible with the 1.8/2.0 head though for hybrid builds.
The later Ph2 used the F5R engine which isn't any use to you.
Ideal then.. Just picked up a 2.0 f7r with 68k from a megane for £150 bargain
Ace... Change the flywheel and clutch over for those of a 16v/Williams though as the trigger pattern is different and the Megane uses a larger clutch plate.

I was put off because there was no g/box with it. and the fact that jc5's are rare and expensive! Perhaps im being a tight arse and should have bought it!
Although he wouldnt tell me why it was for sale i.e where it was from
Yeh thats the one. Well it took him two days to reply to my emails, I just rang him and asked about it instead. I believe the car had an interior fire. As for the box, yeh ok it hasnt got one with this engine, but ill get one elsewhere at a later date, that dont bother me.. No rush.Originally Posted by 1995clio16v
I've seen F7R's running 170bhp thru a 19 16v JB3 box without any issues and the GT Turbos have no issues putting 230bhp thru them either so I really wouldn't worry about sourcing a JC5 too much!
Yeah we have all seen them, and all seen them go bang tooOriginally Posted by MicKPM
