    need some help with a makita drill. anyone help????

    how do you get the chuck of the drill??? i want to replace the existing plastic keyless chuck with a metal keyless chuck. ive seen theres a left hand thread retaining screw inside the chuck jaws which ive loosened up. but how do i get the chuck of? as once the screw is out it doesnt just pull off! any help appreciated.

    screw has to some all the way out and get the biggest allen key you have that fits, tighten it into the chuck and hold it while running the drill backwards. it should wind off. if not tap the allen key with a hammer to loosen the chuck from its thread.

    yeah had to make a good drill out of 2 shit ones. cheap ass mofo employers. god its good being self empolyed :D
