    rear arch repair with what ?? mat look here please

    what happens i asked my mate and he said try n buy the chunk i wanna cut out ? and weld another piece thats been cut off a scrap valver

    matt would have a section ?? or is this the wrong way of doing it ?



    a loca body shop has said £300 but my mate reckons it will be just full of bog
    which i dont want

    you used to be able to buy repair panels, but all the ones i bookmarked are now gone! so i cant find any! well the ones i do find are for 4 door models!

    depends how bad it has done, a simple outer skin cut and weld may do the job... ask 2live hes done his with help from friends and looked good!

    ive heard someone having the welding done themselves, priming it, sealing it etc.. then paying chips away to blend it in.. genius!

    i got a repair rear 1/4 of a std 3 door one. 1.2/1.4 whateva.

    cut the bad bit out and had the new part welded in, primered up, painted it meself. the reno rattle cans are a very good match btw lol.

    so you bought a repair panel and welded it on top of the old ?
    how much where from how much sill does it cover ?
    what about the big line ??
    2 live is it cool if i call and see you
    i would like you to look it over and gimmi some pointers
    tell me what a few things are
    this next week im plannin on gettin the new lights and indicators amd fog to finsh the front
    also dizzy leads plugs oil n filter because my mpg seems to of dropepd a lot i know the petrol is fu(kin dear but it wont hurt

    looking again i dont want any where near that much weld
    at most 7" up the arch and 4" along the sill ( dosnt look that big but how much should i allow )

    no.....the rusty bit was cut out mate.as in above pic^^^^^^^


    then the new panel was cut, only cutting out of the new panel the bit i needed to fill the hole left by the bit i cut out. cut it to good metal. then welded the new bit to the old.
