    16v box

What would it cost to get a box rebuilt?

Also what about just a thrust bearing fix?

    Cheers

    Adrian :D

Depending on what is wrong with the gearbox, I have links to someone that can repair gearbox's. He is a friend that works at bristol transmissions (my old work place). Prices are around the 150 marker

Wouldn't bother rebuilding a jb3 box, get a williams one and then rebuild that when it goes

Is there any difference with the 16v box and the williams one?

Heard that the willy one may be stronger?

    Are ratios the same?

Ratio's....I am not entirely sure tbh. My 16v gearbox (which I had when I bought my car JB3) had a different ratio in 4th thats a definite difference to my JC5....approx 85mph in 3rd and 120mph in 4th at 7000rpm where as my JC5 is approx 112mph at 7000rpm in 4th which imo is better. 5th gear maybe slightly taller too but i cannot confirm this

JB3 uses circlips in construction, JC5 has the bearings pressed on, much stronger

    hi mate.

JC5 has stronger bearings and is a better stronger box than JB3.

also as a full rebuild kit is 299 quid any rebuilt box for 300 has to have something left out in my opinion...
