    16V starter motor

Just got a recon starter for the 16v as i fear it is going to give up soon. The only problem is its smaller than the one on the car- and much more like the one on my f7r thats in the shed, the guy said it was the one that came up for the 1.8.

My question is will it still fit the f7p or will i have to change any other parts over as well?

Should fit the same, just check the number of teeth on it.

It will fit fine...I fitted a 16v starter motor to a Williams F7R block a while back after modifying the starter motor dimensions

No its a valeo one, counted the teeth on my old 16v one and it had 9 the new one had 10 but the pitch on the teeth looked very similar- didnt have time to think as i was in work with 20 mins till workshop lockdown and no starter in my car so i fitted the new one and it starts fine! Funnily enough it sounds very similar to my old 1.2 when cranking as the 16v starter seemed to have a very distinctive sound!

Ive fitted a few starters with a different number of teeth, actually rang a starter company and asked them if it were right, pinion looked too big, but they assured me it would be fine and it was
