    williams gearbox problem?

my mate has a mk1 phase 3 1.4 maxim with a williams lump fitted. it's been in about a year now.

anyway, just recently he cant get it into 2nd gear so he just goes from 1st to 3rd.
there are no crunching, grinding or knocking noises he just simply cant get the gearstick into 2nd, its as if there is something blocking it

i once had a similar problem in my old 1.2 but it sorted itself out after a few miles.

    any ideas?

    thanks, gav

sounds like the synchro,s and selectors are going. time for a rebuild before it gets worse.

check mounts, and the position of the selector, might have slipped.
