Shite probably.
Discs will likley warp and the main problem with heat in std setup is because of the material the calipers are made from doesn't dissipate the heat well enough.
Using the same calipers with bigger discs ain't going to help much imo.
agreed but they will be a tad better i think as due to disc diameter increasing friction required to stop the wheel will be lower????Originally Posted by Swervin_Mervin
they will be better as said because the disc size is bigger but youre still using the same calipers so no real improvement for that sort of cash
Hmm been discussed a few times I think, afaik the concenus was that they look good and thats about it, no real improvement in stopping power and Im sure there was some negative about have a higher rotating mass?
I honestly would'nt bother with them mate...there more for show than stopping power....i'd even say that a standard set-up is better. I had too sets of these, as the first set I had one of the caliper bracket bolts came out and ****ed the inside of the disk! I'd either tidy up ur standard set-up or go for 4 Pots for real stopping power. Theres some Wilwood 4-pots in the Group Buy at the mo.
Buy ALL new standard bits and uprate your pads...
Job done unless you've got serious power going through the wheels....
By ALL I mean calipers, lines, fluid, discs yada yada yada....
Oh and new tyres - I count those as stoppers too :D
reckon GSF or someone similar would give us a group discount if we got an order for say 16+ calipers? or whatever amount we could muster?
They are better than std.
Common sense really...the disc is increased in size as well as being thicker.
Whether or not its worth the money its up to you. I beleive 4 pots etc are only a little more but more money is more money. I was impressed with the 285mm kit and there are ways to source it cheaper.
i have them. with some ferodo ds pads cant remember what ones. they stop a treat once the pads are warmed up.
