speedo wobble

i did a search and found that there was a away to cure the problem,

i got the part that was needed, whilst the box was out i took the old bit out and went to refit the new part but it wont go in, its a very tight fit ive try hitting it in with hammer but as gone so for then stopped. its sitting abou 3cm out.

is there a speacial way that it has to go in?

Ive checkeed with the other posts on here and ive difinatly got the right part?

anybody got any light on this?

I'd be interested to know how to fix this, mine has a fairly new speedo cable (under a year old), but it pulls straight out of the gearbox without the plastic clip attached... i can push it back in and the speedo works but wobbles a bit at low speed

Not sure if it's related, dunno why yours is so hard to get in but mine just slides in and slides out! Must be lubed up well!

it goes into the gear box then the speedo cable end goes into it.

Think the end bit is meant to stick out? least it does on mine...

cam you do this without removing the gearbox?!

yeah you can do it with gearbox in car?

can anybody else shed some light on this?

its sticks out alot further than the orignal?
