    Piston/Rod Direction

right, after checking the wossners, they have an arrow stamped on the crown that can face to the front or the back of the engine, so from standing in front of the car facing to the back, which way will the pistons go?

and also does it matter which way round the con rods go, as the writing on thier caps can face front or back of the engine in a similar fashion but from underneath!

    any advice appreciated!

    cheers

Seein as the pistons are new, i can't see that it'd matter?

It clearly would if you were to strip the engine again after the rebuild, perhaps thats why the markings are there, so you have some reference when stripping/rebuilding using the same parts?

    Just a thought.

it does matter as they have an offset pin to minimise piston slap when cold.

lookin at pic from your rebuild thread mate it looks like arrow points to rear of block on your pistons which are wosseners n all aint they iirc?

this pic you can make out a feint arrow on the centre of the crown and its pointing away from oil return gallery which is at front of block isnt it? rekon i should go with the same then?
