    Piston Rings

the piston rings supplied with my new pistons came with no instructions as to which way up they go!

the o/e piston rings i took off have to go a specific way up as they are tapered/machined different on each side, these wossener ones dont appear to be any different whichever way up they go

am i right in assuming i can slap them either way up?

    cheers

but you must fit the pistons the right way as they have an offset pin.

elaborate please? there is writing stamped on the crowns, will that be the right way up as you look at the engine from the front or the wrong way up?

Piston rings usually have an 'up' marker or 'top' marker located next to the ring gap. Sometimes is a very lightly lazer engraved letter etc.
