    Throttle body wiring ?

Just wondered if i can use a 172 wiring loom for my clio 1.8 16v with a megane head for a throttle body conversion ? I will be using an adapatronic standalone management system but as the megane head runs coil packs i just wondered the above ! cheers

think ud be better off splicing into th eoe loomtbh mate . use the loom that comes with the ecu to run theinjection side of things, but leave ur oe loomonto take care of evrything else

I mite be sounding very thick now but how do you set the idle on t/b's , do they have a iscv as such or is it done via ecu ? As for your guestion gunner yes i will be dealing with dave/jon @ avt for standalone !

if u check out this pic. u can just make out the 2 idle adjusters on the black body of the bodies. and then the 4 screws at the sides of the bodies to match em up.

Im sure i replied to this last night lol

anyway..a coil is much of a muchness..they all do the job, so long as the ecu you have has an internal ignition driver. You could use the megane coil on plug unit, or 172, or ford DIS etc etc.

Keep the mk1 loom tho for sure and rip out the engine control side.

As for idle adjustment, first you need to balance them to make sure they are in sync, this is done by the small screw on the tab which joins the pairs. If they are out of sync between each cyl (not pairs) then its possible to adjust the bypass screw on the bodies to bring them back inline...though usually they are ok from the factory. all this shuld be done at say 1500 rpm, then bring base idale down 900rpm and re-check balance.

After all this, it maybe necessary to re-calibrate TPS.
