    gearboxs

    ok took box out of the williams today, confirmed that my diff is fcuked!!

    just wandered if anyone knew any other boxs that will fit the willy other then willy/16v boxs? cheers and does anyone do a decent gearbox liek straight cut type etc and costs?

    There was a post somewhere, all teh reno boxes will fit, 1.2 clio, r5 etc, but all like chocolate (i think was the term) apart from possibly the williams one

    hmmm, well ive yet to strip the willy box, but gonna do that after work tomorro, if i can re-use it then i will but wandered if there was any boxs like a dog box etc out there for not such a daft price!

    megane jc5 will fit.... 1st gear is not as savagely short.. but is has very similar drives.
    kango for silly acceleration and low top end..
    a valver is ok.. and usually hold out well...

    HOW TO **** A DIFF
    Turn wheels to either side when stationary and nail your car... ie hard acceleration on full locks rtc.

    its when i try to turn that i loose drive and it just makes alot of banging noises !!!

    172 box fits also JC5 129, but i'm not sure on the speedo drive etc etc

    172 box will physically fit, but it uses the electrical speedo driver not the mechanical one... if someone could find a way round it (which surely can be done) then this would be ideal. The Cup gearbox has similar gearing and final drive to the Williams box iirc.

    I dont actually need the mechanical speedo drive on mine as I have a seperate rally computer.
