    Boring Our To 2.0

Ive never actually looked inside an engine before but im gonna learn as i go and i was wondering if the cylinders would have to be ground out to make the extra capacity or wether or not there a liners inside the cylinders that i coulc replace with thinner ones?

I assume i would need to replace the pistons with meggy or williams ones and if i did it would i also require a new crank or would a 1.8 and 2.0 rank be the same?

Alot of you may think, just get a 2.0 engine - but this valver engine i have has only covered 30,000 miles and its mint, very tight and quick, quicker than my last valver, so i wanna keep this engine where possible.

    Cheers

    Mike

if your going from 1.8 to 2.0 litre you need the two litre crank and pistons buy which time you could of bought a 2.0 litre. because not only do you need these parts you then need to rebore the block and do a lot of grinding around the bottom of the bores too allow the two litre crank to turn in the 1.8 block. also the 2.0 litre block is stronger to start with so your better just using a 2.0 litre bottom end. and as yours has only done 30,000 miles you would be better selling it than tearing it to pieces to make a 2.0 litre lump.

That makes sense really. How much would an engine with that kind of mileage go for?
