Thread: Misfire?

    Misfire?

ok, before i give my car some beans i allways let it warm up enough to not cause damage...

took it for a blast yesterday and when i was first mincing it, near enough hot, towards the top end of the rev range it misfired twice, felt like it was bouncing off the limiter but at like 4-5k??

kill it off, same thing happened again, then it semmed ok when it was toasting hot?

any ideas what it could be?

    tthanks!!!

you might find that it was bouncing of the limiter - sometimes the back of the rev counter goes wrong and changes the limiter.

I had this exact problem, a very strange misfire around 4/5k when hammering it, and i think it was due to either a wet ECU, or a wet connection somewhere, but it soon cleared up.

Started doing it after some very wet weather when i didn't have my drivers side splash guard on...

a little piece that sits inside the dizzy cap and distributes the spark. change them as a pair to be safe. gsf do a two part kit.
