    Tyre Question

This question is not about handling. Thats a different story. But would the reduced diameter of a 195 50 15 improve acceleration atall over a 185 55 15?

I know some people say there is no difference between 15, 16 and 17 inch wheels but thats bullshit. Im just wondering if the 195 in combination with the light and small willy speedlines would make a difference to acceleration die to inertia (and obviously braking by expratolation)?

Also what is the difference in weight between a 172 alloy and a willy speedline?

I know the 172 is a 16 and the willy wheel is a 15, but what about weight? Does anyone run willy speedlines on a 172?

it does make a diffrence in the size of rim ie 17s are larger hence larger turning circle slower xlr8... the width of a tyre ie 195 will xlr8 better than a thinner tyre say 130 wide.. more width more grip.

    195 / 50 / 15

width / tyre height / rim size

also if the tyre height thickness is 90 and yours are 50 then yours will xlr8 quicker due to less turning circle.

But will the reduced inertia increase acceleration too?

Basically, yes reduced diameter will allow for better acceleration. I run 195/45's on my 15's it gives a hard ride but improves on the road performance.
