But cant make a good gearbox for shit

I ruined another one earlier this evening. Engine doesnt seem to want to give up and its on 163k but i ****ed my 3rd box

Seems like an engine mount had broke as it jolted a bit a few times when accelerating, also when the gear stick is in neutral the car seems to be in 5th when i release the clutch. I managed to get it home but the gear stick is now stuck in 5th and i cant get it out.

All good fun hey, but i still love it :P

aye, agreed, i went through 4 boxes in 57k in my old valver

as soon as a mount goes they don,t shift correctly and thus don,t engage properly and thus destroy themselves. had one go because of mount failure.

actually yours might be alright as if it stuck in fifth in might just need readjusting the gearbox position

Get some uprated mounts on there, seems like you need it

Get a meggy 1.6 16v box. Mine seems to have a longer 5th gear ratio. 80 is at 3750 rpm instead of 4k

Pah, i 1.6 meggy box would last a matter of weeks the way i drive
