Splice into MAP Sensor wiring ?

Why would a car have a splice that runs into the cockpit from the map sensor ?

0171 once had a 200bhp engine fitted - would a Air / fuel meter run this way ?

The join is on the orange wire from the sensor.

At the minute i do not know where the wire goes into the car - what other uses could it have ????

It'll be the immobiliser, 0314 was the same.
It went to the blank next to the front foglight switch.

    Thats it.

Well i traced the wires (two black) and they were cut and taped behind the fog light switch. No longer used.

Removed them then repaired the section on the map sensor.

    Cheers lads.

Yep immobiliser. Makes it a bastard because you can't completely detach the engine loom (easily).
