The guy at renault gave me this today and said that this should be added when putting a new clutch cable on. He doesn't know where it goes and neither do I, hence the post;

It's a clutch pedal stop.
Limits how high up the clutch pedal will go when released.

not a clue! just done my clutch cable with genuine renault one, saw nothing like that takin off ro returning it and guy at renault never mentioned it!

It's not needed unless yours is broke/missing.
