    numberplate placement?

    hi all

    looking at doing a bit of a custom exhuast...ie take off the number plate and have 2 pipes coming out of where it sat...on either side.......is there any law that your numberplate has to be lit up? as i can put one in the boot window with double sided tape?

    just thought id check

    i wasnt trying to be a 182...just after somthing different..not just your standard placement of the exhuast pipe..

    i was goin to go more than the 182 thing though and put the pipes where the numberplate was


    so i have to have it lit up then?

    Yep, by law

    But you could place it somewhere else and graft a light onto it, like in your bootlid.

    When poeple smooth a boot for say a MK2 golf, you can buy a number plate recess kit for the bumper, so you could recess it somewhere lese I suppose.


    Will still look shit though

    move it to the side and use a square plate though it still has to be lit

    damn edit button..



    so would it be ok to use a sqaure number plate..in the same place..

    with 2 tailpipes on each side..in the recessed bit
