    Advancing the timing

How much difference will this make to a valver with a filter, de-cat and stainless??

im sure the ph2's have imobilizers in the ecu so if you change it you need to remove all the alarm ect

I take it you mean Ignition timing?

Ignition can make quite a bit off difference if you do it right. Moving the CPS wont really hack it. Also if your fitting a chip, you dont know what extra advance thats running, so any manual advance could easily cause det.

I wasn't going to touch the CPS Stan, I was going to do it direct from the dizzy.

Advance it a touch, take it for a spin, advance it further, go for another spin etc etc. Until I hear detting under load, then knock it back a touch. Will this be ok? Or is there another method recommended for home tuning?

TBH theres so much dwell on the dizzy due to the size of the rotor arm contact, you wont achieve much advance.

as for advancing till you hear det....hear with what, your naked ear?! i wouldnt...if you heard it over an engine whilst bombing down the road at full chat, its likely going to be too late! anyhting audiable at that state i going to be quite severe.
