My Standard Williams has just had an engine rebuild. I am prepared to use my car in a competition with a similarly new engined 182 to make a comparison. This may be the only chance to see how these two cars compare once and for all. It also has newly rebuilt suspension, new calipers / brakes, bushes and pretty much everything replaced. The only thing that isnt is the gearbox and rack.
My car is completely standard, with standard exhaust and paper filter. It has a cat on it. It runs with full interior and spare tyre.
I would be prepared to have some runs of various types to see the difference. Any 182 owners out there really think that you can out accelerate a Williams to 60? The book says yo, i say no. 0-100, i bet the Williams would have it too.
Anyone game enough to try this. My engine has 1600 miles on it. Of course the challenge has been set, and i have nothing to lose, but then i know it wont lose.
No excuses. Prove your 182 is as quick as you claim.
